The AEM intake is at the forefront of Gen 2 MINI induction kits. Whereas the standard airbox uses a feed from aside the headlight, the AEM utilises the bonnet scoop as well as the OEM feed. Typically your MINI will come with a plastic grill which blocks the majority of the air going into the engine bay.
A cold air feed is attached to the underside of your bonnet and then feeds the enclosed box at the back of the engine bay.
